Sam Hassan came to Downtown as a stranger and has spent the past couple of years becoming a familiar face and building a future. Hassan serves as the Art Director of the Garment & Citizen, and is also a student at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College at Washington Boulevard and Grand Avenue. The native of Helbako, Jablah in Syria, has done great work for the Garment & Citizen, and his record is every bit as good at Trade-Tech, where he recently made the Dean’s List as one of the top students in his class. Hassan is due to graduate with an Associate of Arts degree next month, and expects to continue with the Garment & Citizen and also pursue a number of art projects of his own, specializing geometrically designed ornamental pieces. We thank Hassan for all his efforts, and congratulate him on his success at school. We wish him, his wife Jessica, and their baby boy, Zain, all the best in the future. And we congratulate Mahmood and Wahida, his parents, for raising a fine son and giving their blessings to his journey to make a new life in the U.S. ... [Full Story]
