It’s not often that someone is featured as a Local Hero twice, but this week brings an exception for Gokce Evran, pictured here with her friend Sefa. Evran came to Los Angeles all the way from Holland a few years ago. She served as an intern at the Garment & Citizen, thanks to an introduction from her Uncle Andrew Evran, a merchant in the Jewelry District. She did a fine job, and then went home to finish her undergraduate studies before taking on the challenge of earning a master’s degree in marketing. We’re proud to report that Evran has earned her master’s degree. We’re just as happy to say that she recently sent along a package of fine Dutch chocolates with a note sharing the good news. And we’re glad to see that she has taken to wearing stylish hats, which look quite nice on her—and work for Sefa, too.
