Alfonso Zuniga came to Los Angeles in 1968 from his hometown of Acapulco, Mexico, and he made a living for a long time in the local garment trade, working for big labels such as Guess? Inc. and others before starting his own cutting service some years ago. Zuniga says he had a good run as a cutter before the changes that have come to the garment industry in recent years made the business tougher than ever. That’s why Zuniga switched over to marketing health and beauty products, starting a business called Z. Internacional, which operates a website at azuniga5.qhealthbeauty.com on the Internet. Zuniga says his new business is going strong, adding that he hopes that continues so that he can enjoy life with his wife, Benia, sons Alfonso, Jr., and Ricardo, and daughter Marisol. He says he also wants to keep the money coming in so he can have extra fun with the newest member of the family—his grandson, little Ricardo Jr.
