This is General Jeff, a resident of the Skid Row district of Downtown, where he stirs things up and manages to get things done. Jeff makes a lot of his efforts through an organization called Issues and Solutions, which he founded with the aim of reminding the folks of Skid Row that they can play a role in bringing improvements to daily life in the area. Issues and Solutions recently played a role in getting the basketball court at Gladys Park renovated, prompting changes in a policy of charging tenants of some residence hotels a fee whenever they have visitors to their rooms, and helping to preserve a Los Angeles Unified School District program that’s intended to offer aid to homeless children. Jeff stirs things up, as we said, and sometimes he even ruffles some feathers. But his work with Issues and Solutions is helping to make a number of positive differences in Skid Row, which can use all of the positive energy it can get these days.
