Enrique Martinez gives Dr. Fredy Perez his full attention as part of an eye exam during the National Night Out on August 4 in the Echo Park district northwest of Downtown. Martinez is a resident of Echo Park, where the Dr. Fredy Perez Vision Care Center has operated for the past 32 years. Perez is a native of the Dominican Republic and a resident of the Mt. Washington district. He’s quite active in Echo Park, serving on the board of social service provider El Centro Del Pueblo and dedicating time to the Lions Club, a non-profit organization that has a special goal of working to eliminate preventable blindness. The Lions Club provided the mobile clinic for the free eye examinations for visitors to the National Night Out event, who also enjoyed food, refreshments, and mixing with neighbors. Anyone interested in more information on the Lions Club can call Perez at (213) 250-5768 or visit geocities.com/lalions on the Internet.
