Hilda Gomez Quiros has helped a lot of brides get ready for their big days, offering specially designed dresses and all the accessories necessary for a proper wedding. Quiros says she is thankful for every day she has had at her Hilda’s Bridal Shop, which is located at 941 S. Broadway, and has been in operation on the block for more than 30 years. The native of Guatemala says the place is doing just fine, adding that she drew inspiration to start her own business from her mother, an excellent dress maker and teacher. Quiros says that her husband, Jorge, has been a big help to her in business, and so have the couple’s sons, Jorge, Jr., and Bernardo. It certainly seems that helping is a Quiros family trait—just ask any of brides around Los Angeles who have relied on Hilda’s Bridal Shop for help with their weddings over the years.
