Hector Peralta likes life in Los Angeles just fine. The native of Mexico City says that he is happy with his work handling shipping and receiving for the Rnovate line of women’s clothing, which operates on the 800 block of S. Broadway. Peralta didn’t come straight to Los Angeles from Mexico, though, and some days he thinks about his first stop on the immigration trail, which took him to Alaska to work on fishing boats. Yes, we have great weather in Los Angeles, and Peralta enjoys his work here—but he says that he enjoyed his time in Alaska and still remembers the place fondly, cold weather and all. The current economic downturn has a lot of folks thinking back to better times in other places, and some have even pulled up stakes and moved back to old hometowns across the U.S. and homelands around the world. There are plenty of hard-working individuals who are committed to getting through the recession and finding better times once again in Los Angeles, however, and we’re glad that Peralta is one of them.
