Answering Questions on Cal/OSHA

Academics Meet Entrepreneurs: The Garment Contractors Association of Southern California (GCA) is teaming up with the UCLA Labor Occupational Safety and Health Program (UCLA-LOSH) to host a free safety seminar to interested business owners or their representatives. The seminar’s topics will include preventing injuries, a safety orientation checklist, basics of California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA) standards, preventing robberies and assaults in the workplace, and planning for various emergencies. Business owners or employees who attend will receive a certificate of completion for display on their commercial premises. The seminar is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, at the UCLA Downtown Labor Center, which is located at 675 S. Park View Street in the Westlake district west of Downtown. The seminar is free to GCA members, and $10 for non-members. Call (213) 629-422 for more information.
