Free Metro Rides for Christmas & New Year’s Eves

Publish Date : 12/21/2007
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Metro system of buses and trains will provide free rides to all late-night passengers on the eves of the Christmas and New Year’s Day.

The free rides will be available between the hours of 9 p.m. and 2 a.m. during the nights and early morning hours of December 24-25 and December 31-January 1, under the program.

MTA officials said agency’s board of directors approved the free rides in a bid to promote safety during the holiday season, providing an alternative to driving after parties, especially if the celebrations have included alcohol. (See related story on “MTA Service Changes,” Inside Stories)
